Aged Care Guidance and Education for Professionals
Supporting you to deliver clearer, safer and more confident aged care guidance
How I Work With Professionals
I partner with lawyers, financial advisers, GPs, social workers, nurse unit managers, and community organisations to provide independent aged care guidance at key points of need.
My role is to help families understand their options, reduce stress, and make informed decisions that align with your legal, financial, or clinical care planning.
I offer support in two main areas
• General aged care navigation for clients planning ahead or exploring home support options
• Hospital and crisis support for families being asked to make urgent decisions during an admission or discharge process
Because I am fully independent and not connected to any provider, recommendations are based solely on the best interests of the older person.
When to Refer
Professionals commonly refer when:
• Clients are overwhelmed by the aged care system
• There are questions about Support at Home, costs, or eligibility
• A hospital admission has created urgent decisions
• There is disagreement or confusion among family members
• A client needs unbiased advice separate from service providers
• You want to support clients with clear options before they sign forms or commit to services
I can liaise with you directly or support your client and keep you updated as needed.
Professional Education and Training
I provide customised education sessions for professionals who want a clearer, more practical understanding of the aged care system. These sessions are suitable for anyone working with older people, including health, legal, financial, and community-based professionals.
Each education session is tailored to the needs of your team and can cover topics such as understanding the current aged care system, the upcoming Support at Home program, how to talk to clients about aged care pathways, and how to recognise common barriers that families face. I also provide guidance on working effectively with assessors and, for GPs, how to prepare and submit a strong My Aged Care referral.
Sessions can be delivered as short in-service training or as larger presentations depending on your needs.
Pricing is discussed based on the length, content, and size of the group.
How Collaboration Helps Your Clients
Working together means your clients receive clear, practical guidance and their aged care decisions are aligned with any legal, financial, or care planning advice already in place. Families feel calmer and more supported during complex situations, and you have a trusted point of contact for any aged care questions that arise.
This collaborative approach helps avoid unnecessary delays or miscommunication, supports consistent of advice across all professionals involved, and ultimately leads to better outcomes for both clients and families.
